Over the course of 20 years, I collected experiences. I created photographs that documented my daily life. I captured the weather passing through, the landscapes, the people and the shifting tides.
In the quiet moments in between I played with these images, layering, duplicating, distressing and coloring them. I let the imagery take me where it felt it wanted to go.
For years I lurked in the shadows until I found my way. When the tides of life’s circumstances shifted within me, I began to follow the signs. When I followed the signs, the ocean carried me, held me, cleansed the weariness from my soul. I found my will. I learned to follow the signs and they showed me my way.
My art flowed. Creation had always been within me, and I found my conviction. When the path was revealed my life became my art.
