I took on the task of doing formal portraits of both of my kids in downtown Santa Barbara. It was so much fun to see how they have grown since the last time I tried to do something like this. My boy was able to take lots of direction, and was totally cooperative the whole time. My little girl was a bit more difficult but she struck some very "model like" poses. I was very happy with the results and am excited to be sharing these with you!
Little T
I travelled to New York to photograph little T, and it was worth the journey. He has really blossomed from the last time I photographed him as a 6 month old. He was amazingly quick on his feet and I had to run to keep up with him. Thankfully I had my latte that day! We went to the park, which was chock full of New Yorkers enjoying the beautiful afternoon. T ran around and I basically chased him for an hour. I had to pull a few tricks out of my bag to get his attention. I love his big blue eyes and his beautiful smile! I can't wait to see him and photograph him again next year. Thanks for a great afternoon!
Brooklyn, NY Photo Shoot
These were the cutest little troopers, who braved the cold to take these photos.
Some Favorites
Recently I decided to look at some past images. I realized that I have so many new favorites that I just had to do a blog post to share them with you! Enjoy!
Ellwood Preserve Photo Shoot
Pilar and John were the nicest couple who were chosen from a raffle I held earlier this year at the Santa Barbara Kids Expo. I was so excited to photograph their family because they were so passionate about one another and their new baby. Being a baby photographer is challenging but so rewarding, and I love spending the day with a new Mom and just remembering what it was like in my first days as a new parent. Santa Barbara has such a wonderful network for new parents, which is really helpful when you are just figuring it all out.
For our photo session we started off at home and then went to the Ellwood preserve, where we did some group portraits. I hope you enjoy the portraits!
Little S
I recently had the pleasure of photographing the K Family. I had photographed little S for the past two years, but this time his father and his grandfather joined in for the shoot. We had such a good time, and photographed the session at the Santa Barbara Court House. Family photography is so great because it captures memories for generations to come. And having mulitple generations in one photograph is really special. Enjoy the pictures!
Little K
Here is a shoot I did that I absolutely love. Little K was a pleasure to work with, and so full of personality. There were thousands of moths out that day, and little K loved chasing them and having them land on her hands. We shot at the Goleta Train Depot, which is one of my favorite locations. We did an Easter egg hunt, and caught moths, butterflies, and lizards. Santa Barbara is filled with such natural beauty, and it is always a pleasure to work outdoors with the beautiful light. I am so lucky to get to meet so many wonderful kids with my portrait photography business, and I look forward to seeing little K again.
20 Weeks Pregnant
I had the nicest maternity photo session this week. T was so sweet and absolutely glowed, so making good photographs was a joy. We shot the photographs at the Douglas Preserve, which provided a great backdrop to showcase her beauty. Enjoy the pics!
