Jezaira Knight Photography specializes in photographs of children and families. I am based in Santa Barbara, California, but do travel twice a year to New York and Washington DC for photo sessions. I am available for bookings worldwide. I photograph on location, using natural light in a variety of ways to best capture the personality of my subjects. Capturing my subjects at ease is my specialty, and using a variety of techniques I am able to make my subjects feel comfortable. I have a lot of energy that I bring to the photo session, and work hard to make the sitting as pleasant for the subject as possible, even if they are initially very shy. 

 

Keeping clients happy and producing a quality product is my specialty. I enjoy helping my clients with the final output of their images, and offer a variety of end products such as Canvas Prints, Coffee Table Books, Note Cards, and Calenders. How long have you been in business?

I have been in business for almost two years. I have been doing professional photography for over 20 years, and decided to dedicate myself to taking portraits of families and children about 2 years ago.

What motivated you to start this business?             

I was motivated to start this business out of a love for capturing images of my own children. I love taking photographs of them, and sharing them with all of my family and friends. I realized that good pictures are not easy to get, and that I had a unique talent for capturing a child’s essence in all of my photos.

Please describe your business.

Jezaira Knight Photography is a full service portrait photography studio. All photographs are taken on location, using natural light. I work with each individual client to create a strong body of images that captures who and what they are at that moment in time. Sessions generally last 1-2 hours and are shot in the mid to late afternoon or early morning when the quality of light is at its best.

 What are you best known for?

I am best known for taking intimate portraits of children and families that do not look staged. My greatest strength as a photographer is to be able to coax a subject into feeling comfortable enough to reveal themselves to me so that I can capture their personality in my images. In order to connect with my subject I first build rapport, putting the subject at ease. I express enthusiasm for who and what they are, and I mix all of these elements together to create natural portraits that capture their essence.  I seek to create a portrait that defines and describes who my subjects are. I constantly ask myself “What is the extra detail that I can use to tell even more of the story about the people I photograph and their relationship to one another?” I seek to seize the golden opportunities where the subjects are revealing themselves to me, and use my skills to capture who and what they are at that moment in time.

What sets me apart from my competition is my focus on producing a quality experience for my clients from beginning to end, as well as a quality product. No shortcuts are taken, and I use the best quality materials available to output my images.  Dealing with me is easy and straightforward.
